
10 ways to help your autistic child:
- Tell the child about the diagnosis
- Give the child celebrity role models
- Find foods with similar characteristics to expand the child’s diet
- Look for a mentor 1 or 2 years older
- As a parent, give or volunteer for a charity
- Role-play real life scenarios
- Try different therapies
- Have the child journal. It can be about thoughts, feelings, or goals.
- Allow the child to be physically active
- Find support networks, for example, FaceBook groups
